Following his graduation from Michigan State University with a B.A. in business, Ron opened The Shirt Box in Southfield, Michigan in 1981. “I passed up a sales job at Marshall Fields in Chicago to pursue my dream of owning my own business.”
The first story had just men’s shirts and ties. Over the years, Ron has kept up with customer needs and expanded the story to include sport coats, casual and business casual wear, a big and tall section, and even shoes and other accessories.
“It’s great when customers express themselves and then get compliments on their look.”
Ron say “It’s all about the tie.” He loves picking out shirts and ties for his customers and creating a custom look.
